2017 is Canada’s 150th birthday! During the week of February 27-March 3, Bowcroft School was delighted to partner with Trickster Theatre in a celebration of Canada’s history and culture.
Students were engaged in a rich artistic process to explore what it means to belong in our country and be a Canadian. Each class created an original work of physical theatre using a variety of costumes and props to tell a story.
Some of the stories included: using folding tables to tell the experience of a German immigrant arriving in Canada, the creation of a shadow-play about the Underground Railroad, and a contemporary piece using hockey nets as props which examined how refugees contribute to an inclusive society.
