You may also be asked to provide the following documentation.  Please refer to the specific job posting for which you are applying for details.
  • practicum evaluation reports

In order to teach with CBE, all teachers require a cleared Police Information Check (PIC) with a Vulnerable Sector Search recent within 6 months of their hire date. Due to processing times of Police Information Checks, we recommend applying for a PIC as soon as possible.

Beyond technical requirements, CBE also requires philosophical alignment with our values and approach to teaching and assessment, as well as strong evidence of TQS competencies.

Getting Started

To start your teaching journey with the CBE, complete one of our general teaching applications.

To access the application, you will need to register and create a personal profile in our job posting system. Once you create a profile, you can upload any additional documents to support an existing application (i.e. final practicum evaluations) or update any changes to your personal information.

A Career That Grows With You

Teaching doesn’t mean being in one classroom or one school for the rest of your career. At the CBE there are plenty of opportunities inside and outside the classroom depending on your area of interest or career stage. The CBE is unique from other school boards because we offer a variety of educational programs.

You will have opportunities to broaden your career, continue your learning and develop new skills. Teacher growth is a shared responsibility. As a teacher dedicated to continuing to learn throughout your career you will find a variety of initiatives including:

  • online e-Professional Development
  • Professional Learning Communities
  • job embedded professional learning

If you’re interested in growing into a leadership position, there are plenty of options to do so. Learning is our central purpose, and we encourage all teachers to further their learning through the various training and professional development programs and resources available.
