Schools Impacted by New School Openings - Area V
Currently, a number of schools in Area V are over or nearing capacity, while others have capped their enrolment or are under capacity. Planning is underway to make changes in the best interests of all students.
The scenarios
The CBE has developed two potential scenarios for Area V schools that consider our planning principles, and the needs and desires of our communities.

We want to hear from you
We were pleased to have hundreds of people share their perspectives at in-person sessions Oct. 18-20. There were conversations with staff at affected schools as well as nine sessions for parents and community members affected by potential changes in Area V.
Learn what we heard at these sessions.
At the Oct. 18-20 sessions, we heard that people are looking for more information about what potential changes might mean for students and their families. We will be working to provide that information prior to launching our online survey in November. Parents, students, staff and community members will be invited to complete the survey.
A public open house will be held in January as well. This will provide an opportunity for people to learn about the recommendations arising from the feedback received this fall. We will share more details about this event once they are confirmed.
