The Power of Student Voice
I am privileged to meet regularly with the Chief Superintendent’s Student Advisory Group; a thoughtful, motivated and engaged group of students that is not shy about sharing what’s important in their educational journey. Recently, we asked them what we should consider when planning for a successful K-12 education. Overwhelmingly, students expressed the need to build strong relationships and a sense of connection with teachers, guidance counsellors and other supportive, trusted adults. We are listening, and these powerful voices will be reflected as we plan for the future.
