CALGARY – The Board of Trustees has approved a collective agreement with the Calgary Board of Education Staff Association main body and the professional group.
The agreement has a three-year term, expiring Aug. 31, 2020. It is retroactive to August 2017.
The agreement provides for zero per cent wage increases for 2017/2018 and 2018/2019. It also provides for a wage reopener for 2019/2020.
More than 5,000 CBE employees are covered by the terms of the agreement, including both school and non-school based employees.
“Our support staff are valued members of our organization who provide essential services to students and the system,” said Board of Trustees chair Trina Hurdman. “We are pleased to come to an agreement that is respectful to both employees and the Board’s current budget.
Other updates to the agreement include changes in personal leave, health spending accounts and on call allowance.
