CBE 2022-23 Enrolment Numbers

On Dec. 13, 2022, the
2022-2023 School Enrolment Report was presented to the Board of Trustees. The report provides enrolment data for CBE schools and programs.
The official Sept. 29 count showed that total student enrolment was 131,215 — an increase of 5,886 students from the previous school year. This is the largest increase experienced in the last 40 years.

Report Highlights:
- 104,941 students enrolled in the regular program (including Home Education, Outreach, Unique Settings, Chinook Learning and CBe-learn), an increase of 5,930 students, or 6 per cent, from the 2021-22 school year.
- 26,274 students enrolled in alternative programs, a decrease of 44 students, or 0.2 per cent, from the 2021-22 school year.
- 3,084 students enrolled in complex learning needs classes (excluding Unique Settings), an increase of 91 students, or 3.1 per cent, from the 2021-22 school year.
- The CBE Welcome Centre tracks student registrations from July 1 to June 30 of each year. After two years of declining enrolment of non-Canadians due to of global lockdowns and restricted travel that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, 5,734 students registered through the CBE Welcome Centre between July 2021 to June 2022. An additional 3,458 students were processed from July 1 to October 25, 2022.
