CALGARY – The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) Board of Trustees is honoured to announce Dr. Rupinder Toor as the sixth recipient of the CBE’s Legacy Award. The award will be presented at the Public Board Meeting on Tuesday, Mar. 6, 2018.

Dr. Toor is an award-winning medical doctor and founder of the Northeast Calgary Women’s Clinic, a not-for-profit health-care clinic for women that addresses the cultural and gender barriers that can prevent them from seeking medical care.

Dr. Toor attended Dr. Gordon Higgins School and James Fowler High School.

The CBE Legacy Award celebrates public education in Calgary and the individuals who have contributed to our communities. In every corner of the city, across the country and beyond, CBE alumni have made a lasting impact.

Public education makes a difference in our communities, our country and our world. Legacy Award recipients embody the work of the public education system and represent the legacy of the CBE: preparing students for life, work and inspiring life-long learning.
