Without substitute teachers, life would have no class! From Mar. 10-14, we’re taking a moment to shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals who step into CBE classrooms and keep the learning going: substitute teachers! They’re the ones who swoop in and ensure everything runs smoothly, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Substitute teachers play a vital role in our schools, whether it’s stepping in to fill a sick leave, a temporary contract or to allow other teachers to catch up on professional learning. They bring diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives into classrooms, enriching the learning environment for everyone. Whether they fill in for a day, a week, or longer, they make a real difference.
It’s not always easy being a sub. They handle last-minute lesson plans, get to know new faces quickly, and continue to advance learning for students. From managing unexpected situations to connecting with new students, they face unique challenges every day. Their dedication to students is truly inspiring.
So, let’s make this Substitute Teacher Week extra special! Let’s show our subs how much we appreciate their hard work and the incredible difference they make in our schools. They’re not just filling in; they’re making a lasting impact, and we are so lucky to have them!
