If you have a mobile phone number on file with your school you’ll get a text message like this. This message is NOT spam.
Reply Y
If you would like to receive
general SMS messages from your school you need to opt in by replying to this message with
Y. You can also text
Y at any time to our new six-digit SMS number: 978338.
What If I Do Not Reply?
If you do not respond, you will
not receive any SMS messages (general, commercial, or emergency) from your school.
What If I Have Previously Opted In?
The SMS number our messages are sent from is changing, so even if you’ve opted in before, you must opt in again to be able to receive any SMS messages from your school.
Why Is This Changing?
Based on feedback from parents we are now sending all SchoolMessenger email, phone, and SMS messages from within Canada to provide the best possible protection for our student and parent data. The
Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association oversees text messaging in Canada, and requires us to get your permission before we can send you SMS messages from our new number.

Not all schools send text messages, but opting in will ensure that you receive any messages that they do send. There is no extra cost to receive SMS messages from the CBE, but standard message rates and data charges from your carrier may apply when you receive messages from us. See all terms and conditions at
