The first-ever CBE Minecraft Design Challenge, Level Up, Calgary! has been a tremendous success.
138 schools registered in the challenge and through a rigorous vetting process from our school-based Minecraft designates, we received 103 total student submissions. The submissions represent not only the meaningful, authentic work of our students but the significant collaboration and problem-solving required to bring them to life. Approaching a challenge like this also took perseverance from our educators and students alike. We’ve been blown away by the creativity of student submissions and can’t wait to share them with our system!
The Minecraft Design Challenge committee now has the pleasure (and pressure) of narrowing down all of the submissions to a list of 12 finalists, three per division, by the end of January 2022. The City of Calgary will announce four winners, one per division, by the end of February 2022. Please stay tuned for more details!
While the Design Challenge deadline has passed, the world file and resources will remain
available for download.
