On Wednesday, May 25,
Willow Park School – Art Centered Learning Program recognized an incredible year of learning in and through the arts. The school celebrated students-as-artists, teachers-as-artists and parents-as-artists.
The event was attended by more than 500 people who had the opportunity to take in a variety of artistic exhibits, ranging from musical and dramatic performances and live artists creating visual pieces in a variety of forms.
A true highlight of the event was students creating art alongside their artist parents.
Guests moved through the school and learned about the fantastic way Willow Park students learn in and through the arts.
One student exclaimed, “I have never felt more confident and proud” after singing their heart out accompanied by a live student and teacher band.
Our School Council chair shared, “What a wonderful vibrant evening! An amazing chance to see art is all it’s forms on display throughout the school, and to engage with student, parent and teacher artists! It was an absolutely wonderful way to welcome the community back into this magical space after a difficult two years!”
All participants agreed that the opportunity to be in community together was the greatest joy of all.
