We are pleased to share the results of our 2016 Accountability Pillar. This year’s results are truly outstanding and we want to thank our employees for their important contribution towards them.
The Accountability Pillar is created by Alberta Education to help evaluate how school boards are progressing towards their learning goals through a variety of success measures. The CBE improved significantly in a number of measures, including “safe and caring,” “education quality,” and “citizenship.” Some of these measures are informed by student, parent and teacher survey results, while others are calculated through provincial data such as diploma exam results or drop-out rates.
We know that our schools used feedback from students, parents and teachers, along with previous achievement data to inform their school development plans and classroom practices. We are especially encouraged to see that the areas that were targeted for improvement last year have shown significant improvement this year.
While these results are excellent, we know there is always room to grow and will continue to use these results to drive improvement in the future.
