Curriculum
In Alberta, curriculum or Programs of Study are determined by Alberta Education. The curriculum identifies what students are expected to learn and do in all subjects from kindergarten to Grade 12. You can find the new

The Calgary Board of Education does not decide what is taught in our schools. However, our teachers decide how the curriculum is taught in their classrooms.
New K-6 Curriculum Development & Implementation
Alberta Education released its new K-6 curriculum in Science and French Immersion Language Arts and Literature on March 17, 2023. This is in addition to the previously released new curriculum in English Language Arts and Literature, Mathematics, and Physical Education and Wellness on Apr. 13, 2022.
French Immersion Language Arts and Literature (K-3), Science (K-3), English Language Arts and Literature (4-6) and Mathematics (4-6) are now being used classrooms across Alberta.
Alberta Education has shared new curriculum resources for parents and school boards, as well as an
implementation plan, on their new digital resource,
LearnAlberta.
