Welcome to Google Classroom! In response to classes being cancelled and the need to move teaching and learning to an ongoing learning model, we will be using Google Classroom and Google Meet to support your ongoing learning needs.
Invitations to Google Classroom
There are two ways your teacher could invite you to Google Classroom:
- Access through the email invitation your teacher sends you through your educbe.ca Gmail inbox.
- Provide a unique code for you to use.
Accessing Google Classroom
Method 1: Log in to your Gmail account to accept an email invitation from your teacher.
- Go to
https://mail.google.com/.
- Enter your email address (username@educbe.ca) and press Next.
- Enter your password. If you do not know your email address or password, or you are having issues logging in, contact your teacher.
- Open the email invitation from your teacher and join Google Classroom.
Method 2: Log in to your Google account and then join Google Classroom using the code provided by your teacher.
- Go to
https://www.google.ca/.
- In the top right corner of your screen, click the blue Sign In button.
- Enter your email address (username@educbe.ca) and press Next.
- Enter your password. If you do not know your email address or password, or you are having issues logging in, contact your teacher.
- In the top right corner of your screen, click on the Google apps icon (9 tiny squares)
and then select Google Classroom.
- Use the code provided by your teacher to enter Google Classroom.
Method 3: Log in to the Google Chrome browser and get access to all Google Workspace Apps.
Note: This method is enables you to easily switch between accounts for multiple people in your home and access all of your Google Workspace apps simply by using your account.
- Log in to the Google Chrome browser.
- In the top right corner of your screen, click on the Google apps icon (9 tiny squares)
and then select Google Classroom.
- Use the code provided by your teacher to enter Google Classroom.

Google recommends using the Google Chrome browser for all Google Workspace for Education applications. Please see the instructions for
logging into Google Chrome.
View Important Dates (including Due Dates) in the Calendar
- If your teacher has set due dates, reminders, or Google Meets in a class calendar, you can
check the dates.
- You can also
view upcoming work for one or more classes.
Completing and Submitting Assignments
- Your teacher can
assign you tasks to complete.
- You can
submit an assignment to your teacher on or before its due date.
Communicating with Your Teacher
Your teacher will let you know how best to communicate with them. This may include:
- Emailing your teacher at their
username@cbe.ab.ca email address.
- Other methods your teacher has communicated to you.
