Campus Calgary/Open Minds is an innovative school program that enhances student learning by moving the classroom into vibrant comm​unity ​settings​​. All Calgary teache​​rs are invite​​d to apply!

Applications are closed for the 2018-1​9 school year. 

Appl​​ications for the 2019-2020 school year will be available in January 2019.

Cost of Pr​o​​g​​ram​

We are grateful for the support of community and funder partners​ who put this program within reach of all Calgary teachers and students. Calgary Board of Education and Calgary Catholic School District schools pay $1250 and all other Calgary schools pay $1500 (including transportation). ​

    Review proposal expectations and how to complete the application form

  • Site Specific Welcome (May after school)
    Initial opportunity for site familiarization, sharing of expectations and development of working relationships
  • A Day on Site (usually August)
    Immersion at the site and discovery of the rich resources
  • Setting up for Success Workshop (after school evening September)
    Immersion in and practicing the CC/OM philosophy
  • Practice and Preparation at School
  • First Planning Meeting (after school at your school 6-8 weeks prior to being on site)
    Collaboration with CC/OM Education Coordinator and Site Coordinator to connect the classroom to the community creating a custom designed week
  • Scheduling Meeting (2- 3 weeks prior to being on site)
    Finalize the schedule for the week and discussion of roles and responsibilities

    Continued connections and taking up relevant actions
