CALGARY, AB. – The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) and the City of Calgary are hosting a special award ceremony to celebrate the innovative achievements of K-12 students across the CBE and Rocky View Schools for Level Up Calgary Season 3: Parks & Portals. On June 11, winners of the Minecraft Design Challenge will be recognized for their creativity, collaboration and problem-solving to virtually design safe, accessible, and inclusive public spaces for Calgary.

The event will feature speeches alongside students' winning designs which will help shape two downtown areas: Haultain Park and the future underground 4th Street Station on the upcoming Green Line. In its third year at the CBE, Minecraft Education continues to be an important learning tool to engage students and develop digital literacy skills in a fun and interactive learning environment.
