2026-27 Budget​

The CBE’s 2026-2027 budget​ demonstrates a commitment to student achievement, equity and well-being through effective budget management, financial planning and transparency. It provides a clear roadmap for a sustainable financial future.

Budget development is a multi-step process. In February 2025, the Government of Alberta provided all school boards with preliminary funding information for Budget 2025-26​. 

CBE Administration presented the 2025-26 Budget Assumptions Report to the Board of Trustees on April 21, 2026. The report lays out the CBE's operating revenues and expense assumptions that will be incorporated into the budget.

The Board of Trustees approved the 2026-27 budget at a public meeting on May 26, 2026. The $1.884 billion budget supports the operation of an expected 252 schools and more than 140,000 students.

As required by law, the 2025-26 budget is balanced.
