Citizens of Calgary elect seven trustees to govern The Calgary Board of Education, one of the best education systems in the world.
Trustees are elected during the municipal election, which takes place every four years. The most recent election was held in October 2025.
The Board of Trustees holds an organizational meeting annually to elect the chair and vice chair and to confirm committee appointments for the following year. For the 2026-2027 school year, the board chair is Laura Hack and the vice-chair is Jenny Regal.
