On average it takes 3-4 years to deliver elementary and middle schools and 4-5 years to deliver a high school.
Capital investment into existing schools can take many different forms (project types) as follows:
- Addition to existing school: provides additional permanent space for schools that are undersized for the needs of the community it serves.
- Modernization of an existing school: provides for the renovation of a whole or part of a school building for both present and future educational programs.
- Replacement of an existing school: occurs when a school building’s condition has deteriorated sufficiently, and it becomes more economical to replace the school with a new facility.
- Solution: provides an integrated solution where to meet the project delivery objective, more than one school facility will require construction activity.
