CALGARY — The Calgary Board of Education is preparing to welcome students for the first day of classes on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026. Media are invited to share the excitement of the first day with a photo and interview opportunity at Ranchlands School.
Chief Superintendent Joanne Pitman will be available for interviews outside of the school at 8:10. She will then join the Alberta Motor Association, Calgary Police Service and student patrollers in safety demonstrations and the promotion of traffic safety.
