Daily Physical Activity
Research suggests that physical activity improves cognitive performance and academic achievement in children. Students who move throughout the day can focus and learn more effectively, regardless of the type of movement.
Students are provided with the opportunity for physical activity during instructional and non-instructional time to support their well-being.
The goals, policy, principles and procedures are outlined in Alberta Education's Daily Physical Activity (DPA) Initiative.
