Welcome to the CBE
Please review, print, and complete the documents below and email them to your recruiter, who will review these forms to ensure completeness.
Before Your Start Date
You will need to complete the following documents and email them to your recruiter:
Review the CBE dress code Wear Business Casual, Working Relationship Commitment and all CBE Policies & Regulations that govern the operation of the school board and employees, particularly:
- Code of Conduct | Administrative Regulation 4027
- Security of Information Resource | Administrative Regulation 1061
- Occupational Health and Safety | Administrative Regulation 1070
- Student Records | Administrative Regulation 6024
- Responsible use of Electronic Information Resource | Administrative Regulation 1062
- Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblower Protection) | Administrative Regulation 4090
Once you have reviewed the above administrative regulations, please include a signed copy of the Acknowledgement of Responsibilities and Obligations for New Employees (as listed above) in your package.

Other Information You Need to Complete
Security Clearance
Everyone coming to work with the Calgary Board of Education must provide a cleared Police Information Check (PIC), dated within six months of their start date, before they can begin to work. If you do not have a current one on file with the CBE or if you have had a break in employment with the CBE you will require a Police Security Clearance. Please visit Calgary Police Services - Police Information Check to request a clearance.
If you are coming from out of province, please obtain a new Police Security Clearance from the Province where you have been residing. Original copies only must be submitted and it must be within 6 months of hire date.

Employee ID
Your employee ID number is required before you can acquire CBE network access. If you have not received your Employee ID number prior to your start date please contact the Employee Contact Centre at:

On Your Start Date
Network Access
To access our technology, you will require a CBE account username and password.
Follow the steps in the CBE Account Set-up Guide on your first day of work.
After Your Start Date
Safety
You will need to familiarize yourself with CBE’s Occupational Health and Safety policies and guidelines. Once you have an employee ID and network access you will be given access to PublicSchoolWORKS to complete your training.
Within 15 working days of your start date, you will need to have completed your safety training and your health and safety orientation with your supervisor.
