In partnership with The Educational Partnership Foundation (TEPF) and Alberta Carpenters Training Centre, this program is an introduction to working in the carpentry trade. The curriculum will be on skill development in both carpentry and scaffolding with a focus on awareness and safety on the job site.  

Students will be introduced to the skills required to start their apprenticeship safely and with basic knowledge of the trade and be work ready:  

  • Safety, including AB Fall Protection and Mobile Elevated Work Platform 
  • Carpentry Fundamentals & Basics 
  • Scaffold Fundamentals & Basics 

Students will develop a base level of skill, safety and knowledge that will assist them to be effective apprentices in the Carpentry Trade or in the craft of Scaffolding. The combined skills learned in this class with experience of on-the-job training will give students the confidence and understanding to build future skills required to be successful on the job and in their apprenticeship.
