Nancy is a lifelong, passionate advocate for public education and served as a CBE school board trustee from 1999-2007 for Wards 11 and 13. She volunteered as a Board Governor of EducationMatters from 2008-2021. Prior to being reelected in October 2021 and October 2025, Nancy worked in Mayor Naheed Nenshi’s office as community relations coordinator leading files related to education, civic engagement, mental health and addiction, homelessness and poverty.
Nancy is excited and honoured to continue to serve and strengthen our public school system with a focus on student success. This is a pivotal time in the history of public education. Ensuring every child in our city goes to an excellent public school is the foundation of our community’s future success.
As a strong advocate, effective leader, and community connector, Nancy looks forward to working along side our newly elected CBE Board of Trustees and the community to improve funding and support for public education to ensure student success in a growing city, build new schools where they are needed, better transportation options so our students get to class safely and quickly, greater inclusion so that every student and family is welcome and meaningful engagement so that Calgarians are heard and represented.
Nancy and her husband Rob have three adult children who are all proud CBE graduates. Their granddaughter attends her local neighbourhood elementary CBE school.
