Follow the prompts below to complete the registration process for children new to CBE.
Registration is not determined on a first come, first served basis. However, should the school have a program in lottery, the registration form must be submitted by the deadline to be included.
Registration and admission to schools in CBE are governed by the Education Act and Administrative Regulation 6090 | Child and Student Registration and Admission.
Every child in Calgary has a designated school based on their home address and the program they choose.
Children must be at least five years old as of Dec. 31, 2024 to start kindergarten in fall 2024.
Children must be at least five years old as of Dec. 31, 2025 to start kindergarten in fall 2025. Registration for the 2025-2026 school year begins in January.
Children must be at least six years old as of Dec. 31, 2024 to start Grade 1 in 2024-2025.
