Daily Physical Activity
Students that move throughout the day can focus and learn more effectively regardless of the type of movement.
Students in schools are provided with the opportunity to move more during instructional and non-instructional time as a result of an emphasis on our Comprehensive School Health (CSH) model.
Research suggests that physical activity improves cognitive performance and academic achievement in children.
The goals, policy, principles and procedures are outlined in Alberta Education's Daily Physical Activity (DPA) Initiative.
