Summer School

Students registered in Biology 30, Chemistry 30, English Language Arts 30-1, English Language Arts 30-2, Mathematics 30-1, Mathematics 30-2, Physics 30, Science 30, Social Studies 30-1 and Social Studies 30-2 are requir​ed to write a Diploma Exam to receive credits and a final mark.

Registration

First-time Writers

First-time writers are automatically registered for Diploma Exams. Advanced registration is required for rewriters and non-funded (international) students. All students must confirm their registration status at myPass.alberta.ca (Alberta Education) before July 4, 2025, to ensure a seat is available.

Rewriters & Non-Funded (International Students)

Rewriters & non-funded (International Students) must register and pay in advance using myPass.alberta.ca (Alberta Education).

• Registration in myPass will be open from June 16 - July 4, 2025
• Select CLS Alternative Site (S.2452)
• Enter your summer school teacher’s name (found in your confirmation email for in-person classes or in D2L for online classes)
• Students must pay at the time of registration or no seat will be assigned
  
• Diploma rewrite fees are not included in course fees

Location & Schedule

New - ONLY Social Studies 30-2 Part A and Part B Diploma Exams will be written at Ernest Manning High School (map​). All other August Diploma Exams, for in-person and online classes, will be written at Nelson Mandela High School (map​).

Special Accommodations

If you received special accommodations for Diploma Exams during the regular school year you will likely qualify to receive them for Summer School as well. New requests for special accommodations may not be accepted. Please speak to your summer school teacher at the beginning of the course to ensure that you will receive your required accommodations.
