Art education benefits student academic success and personal development. Partnering with art organizations and independent artists not only positively impacts our students and schools but leads to a more culturally vibrant community.

We have several ways you can get involved:
Artist Roster
Artists apply to be a part of the Roster and teachers use this roster to search for artists based on areas of expertise. This roster is available for viewing on our internal website for all our teachers and schools. Schools will contact the arts organizations or individual artists they would like to work with. If you are an artist or arts organization interested in working with our schools, we encourage you to join our Art Roster.
Requirements:
- Complete the
Artist Roster Application
- Provide proof of valid of insurance and WCB coverage
- Have a current vulnerable sector search Police Information Check

Visiting Artists
Individuals and arts organizations not on the Artist Roster can also be engaged directly by schools as visiting artists. Visiting artists can take many forms, but can be volunteers or contracted. Artists hoping to express their interest in working with CBE schools are encouraged to apply to the Artist Roster.
Requirements:
- Provide proof of valid of insurance and WCB coverage
- Have a current vulnerable sector Police Information Check
Artists Working in the Classroom
Before you join us in the classroom, the teacher or principal will connect with you directly to discuss learning goals, negotiate services provided, and school/CBE policies.
Before you begin your work at CBE you must review the
Wear | Business casual dress code and our
Fine and Performing Arts Administrative Regulation 3052 to understand the expectations and roles and responsibilities within CBE schools about all the CBE
policies and regulations that govern the operation of the school board and employees.
You will also need to sign a confidentiality statement to ensure that any information accessed, collected, used, generated, or stored while performing the service for the Calgary Board of Education, including student information, is strictly confidential and is to be used only in the provision of services.
