Schools With A Program In Lottery

Several CBE schools have limited capacity for new students. This means we may need to hold a lottery to ensure that all students wishing to attend the school have an opportunity to do so. Review the list below to see if the school(s) you are applying to are listed and register before Feb. 10, 2026, at noon (12 PM). If your designated regular program is listed below, review the overflow schools list  to see where students who are unsuccessful in the lottery will be overflowed.

Lottery Zones

Lottery zones are one factor used to establish priority in the lottery process. All students within the designated boundary will be included in the lottery, but those residing in the lottery zone will receive higher priority in the draw. To review whether you are within or outside the lottery zone, please select your school from the drop-down menu and then select the map file.

Registering for School After a Lottery has been Held

Regular program schools limit new student registration when capacity is exceeded and will overflow students who cannot be accommodated to a school with available space. If you register after a lottery has been held, you may be required to attend the overflow schools. Visit the overflow schools page for more information.

Alternative programs (language, subject matter, or teaching philosophy) running lotteries have limited spots and require an expression of interest each January. If you register after the lottery has been held, you may be added to a callback list that remains open until the end of September. If you are not offered a spot at the school by that time, the callback list is dissolved, and you will need to submit an expression of interest again for the following year once registration opens.
