Registering at a New School Under Construction
The Calgary Board of Education is excited to be building new schools in several Calgary communities.
Registration is ongoing at schools in CBE, including schools under construction.
Registration at schools in CBE is not determined on a first come, first served basis.
Current CBE Students Designated to the New School
These students will automatically be assigned to the new school. Nothing parents, legal guardians or independent students need to do.
Current CBE Students Not Designated to the New School
For current CBE students not designated to the school under construction who would like to attend the school next year, follow the transfer process outlined on
Transferring Between CBE Schools and in
Administrative Regulation 6091 | School Transfers.
New to CBE Students
For students new to CBE who live in the designated attendance area of the school under construction: check the
New Construction section of the
School Projects webpage to find the opening date of the school.
If the date is for the next school year, follow the link below that applies to your situation. Complete and submit the registration form and documentation to the new school as per the steps identified. Do this as soon as possible (and ideally no later than March 15) as this will allow the principal of the school to plan and prepare accordingly for the new school year
If the opening day is more than a year away, there is nothing to do. Registration at schools in CBE is
not determined on a first come, first served basis. Also, CBE schools do not accept registrations submitted more than a year in advance of the start of the school year.
