Operating Budget for Next Year
In February 2025, the Government of Alberta announced its 2025 budget.
In the coming weeks, the CBE will receive its 2025-26 funding profile which provides a detailed breakdown of provincial funding specifically for the Calgary Board of Education.
As part of the budgeting process, Administration will present a Budget Assumptions Report to the Board of Trustees in April. The repoort lays out the CBE’s operating revenues and expense assumptions that will be incorporated into the budget.
In mid-April, schools typically receive their individual funding allocations. Each school then plans for the teachers, education assistants, and other staff who will be needed to support the students in their schools.
A detailed budget report for 2025-26 will be presented to the Board of Trustees in May.
