Operating Budget for Next Year
In February, the Government of Alberta will announce its 2026 budget.
Later in the spring, the CBE will receive its 2026-27 funding profile which will provide a detailed breakdown of provincial funding specifically for the Calgary Board of Education.
As part of the budgeting process, Administration will present a Budget Assumptions Report to the Board of Trustees in advance of the budget being finalized. This report lays out the CBE’s operating revenues and expense assumptions that will be incorporated into the budget.
Typically in mid-April, schools receive their individual funding allocations. Each school then plans for the teachers, education assistants, and other staff who will be needed to support the students in their schools.
A detailed budget report for 2026-27 will be presented and approved by the Board of Trustees before the end of May 2026.
