CBE Celebrates the Opening of Three New Schools

​​​​CALGARY, AB – Three Calgary Board of Education (CBE) schools are celebrating their official openings this month. Mahogany, Bayside and Lakeshore schools opened their doors to students and staff in the fall of 2022 in the communities of Mahogany and Auburn Bay. Official school opening celebrations mark an exciting milestone for the new schools and the communities in which the schools are located.

The events will feature speeches and student performances showcasing their work and school spirit. The event will also include the traditional ringing of the school bell.

Media are invited to attend the celebrations and school tours. Dignitaries, school principals and teachers will be available for interviews. All attendees will be available for photos.

Mahogany School Official Opening Event

Date: Thursday, March 16, 2023
Time: 1 – 2:30 p.m.
Place: Mahogany School | 165 Mahogany Blvd. S.E. Calgary, AB

The formal event will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a student-led school tour with dignitaries from 2 – 2:20 p.m.

Bayside School Official Opening Event

Date: Friday, March 17, 2023
Time: 9 – 10:30 a.m.
Place: Bayside School | 15 Auburn Crest Park SE Calgary, AB

The formal event will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a student-led school tour with dignitaries from 10 – 10:15 a.m.

Lakeshore School Official Opening Event

Date: Monday, March 20, 2023
Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Place: Lakeshore School | 430 Auburn Bay Dr. SE, Calgary, AB

The formal event will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a student-led school tour with dignitaries from 11:15 – 11:45 a.m.​
