Unique Pathways & Off-campus Education Dual Credit - Civil Engineering Technology

Dual Credit - Civil Engineering Technology

Begin your journey at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) Civil Engineering Technology Diploma Program with two essential first-year courses: Construction Practices Theory and Concrete Technology.

In Construction Practices, students explore structural systems, compare construction methods and materials, learn equipment selection, and develop foundational skills in reading construction drawings.

Concrete Technology is a theory- and lab-based course covering the ingredients, properties, and production of concrete, including Portland and Portland Limestone cements used in Canada. Students also study aggregates, admixtures, and mix design, culminating in designing a concrete mix for specific applications and exposure conditions.

See the program page, and the SAIT Dual Credit Handbook for further information about being a SAIT dual credit student.
