CALGARY — Media are invited to attend the Skills on Wheels Skateboarding session led by blind skateboarder Dan Mancina and Academy Skateboard Collective. The session will bring blind and visually impaired students from CBE and Southern Alberta together to learn about skateboarding. Before heading to the skate park with the students, Dan will share his inspiring personal journey of losing his sight and how he learned to continue to pursue his passion for skateboarding.

This highly interactive session will show students the very basics of skateboarding in a controlled and safe environment at Compound YYC Indoor Skate Park. With one-on-one coaching and assistance, all participants will be given the opportunity to stand, push and roll through the skate park based on their own readiness and interest.
