CALGARY – The Board of Trustees has approved a collective agreement with the Calgary Board of Education Construction and Maintenance Skilled Trades Unions.
The agreement has a two-year term, expiring Aug. 31, 2018. It is retroactive to February 2016.
For the first year of the contract there will be no wage increase. The second year of the contract may be open to further wage and compensation negotiation.
The Construction and Maintenance Skilled Trades Unions agreement covers approximately 80 employees at the CBE. Jobs include those of electrician, plumber, carpenter and more.
“This agreement is respectful of the CBE’s current fiscal realities,” said Board of Trustees Chair Joy Bowen-Eyre. “These employees hold important roles in our system and we are grateful to have their support.”
Other changes to the agreement include the addition of two personal leave days to match that of other employee groups in the CBE.
