Grade 1 students at Marlborough School were the very fortunate recipients of both teddies from the Hitmen Teddy Bear Toss and beautiful picture books from the Books for Kids campaign sponsored by ConocoPhillips and other Calgary organizations.
Students arrived at school on Monday morning to find a teddy bear on their desk and spent the week writing, drawing, and recreating their new teddies using a variety of art media.
On Friday, they arrived at school and the teddies were gone! They quickly deciphered the clues left behind and raced to the Learning Commons to discover their teddy sitting atop a brand new picture book! Inside, the bears had written each student a note and included a photo of their overnight adventures.
Curled up and reading to their teddies, students were surprised yet grateful to learn they got to keep both. “Do I get to take this book home with me? To keep forever?” Yes, forever.... #MarlboroughIsAmazing
