CBE Robotics Teams Heading to World Championships in Houston, Texas

​Four CBE student teams competed in the 2018 FRC Canadian Rockies Regional, a top-level STEM robotics tournament that was held at the Genesis Centre in Calgary on April 4-7. The competition featured an international selection of over 40 teams from Canada, the USA, Mexico, Germany, and Turkey. Three of the four CBE teams achieved exceptional results, and earned their spot at the World FRC Championship in Houston, Texas  April 18-21, 2018. 

Tournament Recap:

  • Team Scarlett teamed up with Team Hawaiian Kid and Team Tator to win the Canadian Rockies Regional Championship and a spot at the Worlds FRC Championship.
  • Team Manning Robotics won the Gracious Professionalism award which celebrates outstanding demonstration for FIRST Core Values such as continuous Gracious Professionalism and working together both on and off the playing field, for the work they did with other teams. A member of Team Manning also took home the FIRST Deans List award which celebrates outstanding student leaders. Team Manning had already qualified for the Worlds FRC Championship with their 2nd place finish at the Canadian Pacific Regionals held in Victoria, BC earlier in March 2018.
  •  CBE also had a strong showing from 2 rookie teams. Team Mandela United FRC took home the Rookie All Star Award to secure a place in Houston, Texas. Team Patriot Robotics of Lester B. Pearson had a great tournament and finished ahead of some veteran teams.
