Eugene Coste Cares

Nestled in the southwest community of Haysboro sits Eugene Coste, a Spanish bilingual elementary school. On Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019, School Council, administration and volunteers participated in Find Christmas Downtown, an annual tree-decorating event at The CORE. We were invited to participate in this amazingly fun event through our relationship with The Calgary Parks Foundation who assisted in the school’s five-year dream to build a new playground. This summer, the school’s dream was realized, erecting a spectacular new playground structure, made possible through the generosity of parent and community donors, federal, provincial and local grants along with countless hours of sweat equity.

It warms all our hearts at Eugene Coste knowing these fully decorated trees went to families in need through the support of The CORE’s charity partner, The Magic of Christmas.

One of our largest fundraisers at Eugene Coste is Farm to School, a not-for-profit healthy fundraiser of fresh Canadian grown vegetables. Through Farm to School, donations can also be ordered in support of the Calgary Food Bank. For two years in a row, Eugene Coste has provided more fresh produce to the Calgary Food Bank than any other organization taking part, which are 100 per cent donated by Eugene Coste parents, staff, and community. These are just a couple examples of how Eugene Coste Cares and our endeavour to give back to our wonderful community!
