CALGARY – Throughout the school year, all Grade 6 students at McKenzie Highlands School have been learning about the importance of citizenship and learning how they can engage and participate in making their local and global community a better place to live.
With the support of teachers, they have been identifying situations of injustice engaging with the community and government stakeholders, and by supporting organizations they care about.
Students will be sharing what they have learned to help raise awareness at the Take Action Fair at the school. The event will be open to the local community. Students will be selling various items and planning activities to raise money for the causes they have championed.
News media are invited to attend the fair. Students and teachers will be available for interviews.
Date: Thursday, April 18, 2019
