CALGARY – The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) Board of Trustees is honoured to announce Akeem Haynes as the fourth recipient of the CBE’s Legacy Award. The award will be presented at the Public Board Meeting on Tuesday, June 13.
Akeem Haynes is a world-class sprinter and the winner of a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Akeem graduated from Crescent Heights High School in 2010.
The CBE Legacy Award celebrates public education in Calgary and the individuals who have contributed to our communities. In every corner of the city, across the country and beyond, CBE alumni have made a lasting impact.
Public education makes a difference in our communities, our country and our world. Legacy Award recipients will embody the work of the public education system and represent the legacy of the CBE: preparing students for life, work and inspiring life-long learning.

The award was presented to Haynes in May 2017. A video acceptance will be shown at the meeting.
