Terry Fox School Celebrates Aboriginal Day

CALGARY — Terry Fox School is holding a school Aboriginal Day on May 24. The Grade 7 classes will participate in an Aboriginal culture immersion day where they learn about aspects of Aboriginal culture presented by various Elders and presenters. This year as it correlates with Canada’s 150, the students have been working on a project titled, “The Building of a Nation.”
The day will include tipi building, dancing, hand-games, ways of knowing, drumming and discussions.
Media are invited to see the various activities students will be participating in. A student, staff member and presenter will be available for interviews.
