Dear Parents / Legal Guardians,
As the second part of the year continues, it is time to share information for report card assessment and student conferences for Hub online learners.
Report cards will be available in electronic format only in your MyCBE/PowerSchool account on June 26, 2021.
■ Students will receive indicators and comments for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Health and Life Skills. French Language Arts and Spanish Language Arts indicators and comments will be included for students enrolled in second language immersion or bilingual programs.
■ Achievement in Physical Education will be reported through a brief narrative comment only in June.
■ Learning outcomes for Art and Music Programs of Study are integrated throughout the other courses. Achievement in Art and Music will be reported through a brief narrative comment only in January and June.
■ Hub teachers will not report Results indicators for Citizenship, Personal Development and Character in either reporting period. Observations and feedback related to these areas will be shared directly with families as needed throughout the reporting period as part of ongoing communication.
For students with Individual Program Plans (IPPs) or English Language Learner (ELL) Benchmarks, your school principal will collaborate with your child’s teacher and other school resources to provide updates and evaluations.
Students in specialized classes connected to a Specialized Class Report Card will receive assessment information following the guidelines of the specialized class report card.
Student Conferences for Hub Online Learners in Grades 1 – 9 and students in specialized classes (e.g., ALP, ACCESS, EEC) will be held with their generalist teacher. You will receive a message Mar. 1 explaining the process to book these conferences; the site will be available for conference bookings Mar. 6 at 9:00 am.
HUB online student conferences will follow the same processes as students enrolled in in-person learning. Student conferences can be booked through your MyCBE/PowerSchool account. Detailed instructions are available in the Help section of the My School Conferences page.
■ Thursday, Mar. 11: 1:00 – 4:30 pm and 5:30 – 7:30 pm
■ Friday, Mar. 12: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Conferences will be 15 minutes in length for students in Grades 1 – 6 and 10 minutes in length for students in Grades 7 – 9. They will take place online through the Microsoft Teams application.
Once you have successfully booked a conference, you will receive a confirmation email message that contains the date and time along with a link to the online Teams conference. It is essential that you keep the confirmation email message. Accessing your conference will only be possible with the link to the confirmation email. No software or software installation is required. These details may be saved to your personal calendar.
Conferences may also take place via telephone if prearranged over email with the course teacher(s).
Thank you for your continued involvement with the learning of your child.
