Citizens of Calgary elect seven trustees to govern the Calgary Board of Education, one of the best education systems in the world.
Trustees are elected during the municipal election, which takes place every four years. The most recent election was held in October 2021.
The Board of Trustees holds an organizational meeting in June to elect the chair and vice chair and to confirm committee appointments for the following year. For the 2024-25 school year, the board chair is Patricia Bolger and the vice chair is Nancy Close.
