The CBE is proud to honour National Indigenous Peoples Day by sharing the stories of some of our major events, celebrations and learning opportunities. They brought Indigenous culture, traditions and ways of knowing and being into our schools and our community.

The First Nations, Métis and Inuit Student Graduation was held on June 5 at Forest Lawn High School. This is the practice of honouring and moving into the next phase of life.

On May 17, 2018 at Crescent Heights High School, Elders, community members, special guests, students, teachers, drummers and dancers gathered in celebration of reconciliation through education at the 4th Traditional Pow Wow.

On Apr. 20 an Indigenous Education Camp was held at the Niitsitapi Learning Centre that focused on nurturing relationships and reciprocity.
