Calgary, AB — Media are invited to attend the Calgary Board of Education’s Career & Technology Foundations (CTF) Spring Showcase of Student Learning Gala on Thursday, June 4, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for an engaging event that celebrates student learning and highlights how students are exploring future pathways through hands-on experiences.
The CTF Spring Showcase brings together evidence of learning from students in Grades 5–9 from schools across Calgary. Students will present projects that demonstrate their learning in Career and Technology Foundations and showcase how CTF programming helps them develop practical skills, discover personal interests, and explore a wide range of career possibilities.
Attendees will experience a dynamic and interactive event featuring student work across diverse areas including:
- Business and entrepreneurship
- Technology and design
- Foods and culinary arts
- Photography and media
- Construction and fabrication
- Human services and natural resources
The showcase demonstrates how CTF programming empowers students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, helping them build confidence and explore future career possibilities. As part of the gala evening, Career and Technology Studies (CTS) teachers and students from Grades 10–12, along with members of the Unique Pathways team, will also share how early CTF experiences can lead to specialized high school programming, apprenticeship opportunities, post-secondary pathways, and authentic workplace learning experiences.
Media will have the opportunity to:
- Speak directly with students about their learning and career interests
- Explore innovative student projects and demonstrations
- Participate in interactive, hands-on activities and trades experiences
- Enjoy live performances from student musicians
