Board of Trustees Ratifies CUPE Collective Agreement

​The Calgary Board of Education Board of Trustees has ratified the collective agreement with Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 40 after it was ratified by its members on March 19. This new four-year collective agreement expires on Aug. 31, 2028. 

CUPE Local 40 members are an important part of our school community. Members will return to work on Friday, March 21.  

CUPE Local 40 represents about 800 employees, or 5 per cent of the CBE workforce. Its members include cleaners, facility operators, heavy duty mechanics, locksmiths and members involved in snow removal, grounds maintenance and other lines of work.​​​
