CALGARY — CBE staff will provide an update on the plan for future use of learning space at some of our Area I, II and V schools.

The opening of new CBE schools in the 2016-17 school year means changes for many of our existing schools. As thousands of students can now attend schools closer to home, space has become available in the schools they previously attended. Changes need to be made starting in the 2017-18 school year to balance CBE values and planning principles with what we’ve heard from our students, parents, staff and community members.

After gathering feedback from those affected by possible changes to the future use of learning space over the past year, we are now proposing plans for the sustainable use of learning space at Area I, II and V schools.

Students, staff, parents and community members will have a final opportunity to share their feedback on the plans at open houses on Jan. 17 and 18 and through an online survey, which closes Jan. 20. Final decisions will be communicated by March 2017.
