Dear Parents / Legal Guardians / Independent students,
As the second part of the year continues, it is time to share information for report card assessment and student conferences for Hub online learners.
Student Conferences are scheduled at different times for students depending on the status of the teacher (full-time or part-time Hub teacher). Teachers will inform their students when they will be available for interviews which is dependent on whether the teacher is a full-time or part-time Hub teacher.
The date for report card availability for online viewing is Apr 19. This date for report card viewing may be different for Hub students than for students in in-person learning.
Conference Dates
Full-time Hub teachers:
- Thursday, Mar 11: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
- Friday, Mar 12: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (30-minute break for lunch)
Part-time Hub teachers
- Friday, Mar 12: 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
- Conference time for Hub students only: Students in Hub are not to register for conferences during the scheduled times for students registered in in-person classes.
Conferences are to be pre-booked using the School Conferences application that is accessible through the MyCBE / PowerSchool account. Parents / Legal Guardians / Independent Students will receive a message through School Messenger Mar. 1 explaining the process for booking interviews in School Conferences.
Teachers will indicate to students in their Hub class(es) whether the teacher is a full-time or part-time Hub teacher. This information informs when student conferences are to take place for the students in their course(s).
Additional information:
- Conferences will be 10 minutes in length
- Conferences may take place through:
- Microsoft Teams. The Student Conference software will automatically create a TEAM’s meeting.
- Telephone - if prearranged over email with the course teacher.
Once you have successfully booked Conferences, you will receive a confirmation email message(s) that contains the booking details (date and time) along with a link to the online Teams conference. It is essential that you keep the confirmation email message. Accessing your conference will only be possible with the link to the online conference provided in the email.
No software or software installation is required. Access to conferences is gained through the link provided in the confirmation email. These details may be saved to your personal calendar.
Report Cards
Date for Hub report cards: (different than for in-person instruction report cards):
- Apr 19 available for viewing via MyCBE / PowerSchool account.
Students will receive a percentage grade and comments for each Hub Online Learning course in which they are enrolled.
Students with IPPs and ELL Benchmarks: The homeroom designate (home-school admin) will work with the home-school Student Services team (other administrators, resource teacher, ELL learning leader, and/or student services lead), as they do for all their students, to coordinate responsibilities (ELL reporting, IPP updates and evaluation) for students enrolled in their schools.
