CBE Receives 19 Modular Units from the Province

CALGARY – The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) has been advised by the Province of Alberta of the approval of 19 modular classroom units:
- 2 modular classrooms for Cranston School
- 2 modular classrooms for Evergreen School
- 2 modular classrooms for Louis Riel School (CBE request was for 6)
- 2 modular classrooms for Coventry Hills School
- 2 modular classrooms for Radisson Park School
- 1 modular classroom for MidSun School (CBE request was for 2)
- 2 modular classrooms for William Reid School
- 2 modular classrooms for Citadel School
- 2 modular classrooms for Glamorgan School
- 2 modular classrooms for Le Roi Daniels School
The Province has also announced they will fully fund the installation of the modular classrooms.
The CBE will now begin plans for installation of these new units for September 2015.
The CBE will also work to communicate with the school communities and community associations to inform them of the upcoming changes. We will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.
The CBE did not receive approval for its request for four replacement modular classrooms at John G. Diefenbaker High School.
At the Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, public board meeting the CBE Board of Trustees approved the
2015-16 Modular Classroom Plan. The plan included a request for 28 modular classrooms in 11 CBE schools.
