CBE Awarded $25,000 Learn to Play Community Grant

Jan. 22, 2015

Calgary Board of Education would like to thank the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) along with its partners - The Public Health Agency of Canada and ParticipACTION - for awarding CBE a $25,000 Learn to Play Community Grant.

This community granting opportunity encourages students and their teachers to become more physically active through physical literacy. Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) will also be providing CBE with mentorship. Grade 5 students from Mr. Veronese’s class Prince of Wales School helped CBE to celebrate the announcement of the grant. While enjoying a week at 2School the students experienced some physical literacy activities and utilized some the equipment provided through this grant.

For more information regarding the RBC Learn to Play opportunities available to CBE schools please contact Nadeen Halls (Comprehensive School Health) at ndhalls@cbe.ab.ca.
